The office of Sheriff was originally Sheriff – Tax Collector.  The office of Coroner was consolidated with Sheriff – Tax Collector per ordinance #253 on January 2, 1967.  The office of Tax Collector was removed and consolidated with the Treasurer – Public Administrator in 1978, leaving the current office of Sheriff-Coroner.

The office of Tax Collector was consolidated with the Treasurer – Public Administrator in 1978, leaving the current office of Sheriff – Coroner.
