June 7, 2016 Presidential Primary Election
Are you registered to vote No Party Preference (Decline to state, or any party other than the 6 qualified parties in California)?
If you are registered No Party Preference, then by default your ballot will not include the Office of President. Please note, this does not mean you will not be able to vote for President in the November General Election.
Three political parties have decided to allow crossover voting in their 2016 Presidential Primary Election: American Independent, Democratic and Libertarian.
YOU HAVE OPTIONS!
* If you DO NOT want to vote for the Office of President in the primary, no further action is required. You will receive a Non-Partisan Ballot.
* If you are a Vote-by-Mail voter and want to vote in the primary for President in the Green, Republican or the Peace & Freedom Party, you MUST re-register in the party of your choice immediately.
* If you vote at the polls and want to vote in the primary for President in the Green, Republican or the Peace & Freedom Party, you MUST re-register in the party of your choice before May 23, 2016 in order to vote in that party.
* If you are a Vote-by-Mail voter and want to vote in the primary for President in the American Independent, Democratic or Libertarian Party, you MUST request a cross-over ballot immediately by calling the Elections Office at (831) 636-4016. Additionally, please complete our Application for Crossover Voting, and return it to the address shown on the application.
