STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA

JOSE ARANDA
Occupation: IT Manager

Education & Qualifications:

I’m a resourceful, creative, and solution-oriented person with more than 12+ years of IT corporate experience under my belt. I’m currently working at Xperi Corporation as an IT operations manager. I am managing a team responsible for all corporate IT functions at our company. We currently provide day to day technical support to 3000+ employees and our senior executive staff. In addition, I help create and foster new innovating approaches to problems and roadblocks.

Prior to joining Xperi Corporation, I worked at a startup as the Lead Corporate IT Specialist at A10 networks. I evolved our IT helpdesk team by mentoring junior helpdesk support staff. I took on multiple projects and roles, such as facilitating the move of our corporate headquarters. I also helped set controls in our IT department to meet compliance standards so that we could take our company public.

Before that, I worked as an IT Specialist at a startup called Opportun. I got to wear multiple hats in this role, where I helped launch more than 80+ banking branches while planning and architecting our hardware and software stack.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA

JACKIE MORRIS-LOPEZ
Occupation: Physician Assistant / Planning Commissioner

Education & Qualifications:

My roots are deeply planted in the town as a 4th generation resident and both my children as 5th generation. I am passionate about preservation of San Juan’s unique characters as both an old Californian Mission Village and home to a State Park. Our main street of third is part of the original Historical Hwy 101. There are many more facts and structures that make our town very special as well as surrounding hills, open land and the fertile San Juan Valley.

These are things that I cherish as well as our small town qualities. I know change is inevitable but I intend to assure that change or growth is measured, controlled and doesn’t take away from our uniqueness. I will advocate that any new projects or developments must fit with our character and benefit both the town and residents.

I support infrastructure projects as a priority. Our older neighborhoods need newly paved streets as well as new sewage lines. These are just two examples.

I support any efforts or projects to meet the needs of our senior citizens and children. For they represent our living history and our future.

I would appreciate your support and vote, Thank You!

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA

LESLIE Q JORDAN
Occupation: Water Systems Management/Teacher/Incumbent

Education & Qualifications:

Nine years ago, I moved my family to San Juan Bautista. In that time, we have fallen in love with and have become strong community members in San Juan Bautista. Soon after arriving, I joined the Rotary Club and started getting involved. In 2018, I was elected to the City Council and became an active member of my community. I would like to continue serving this community as a member of City Council.

My professional background is in municipal-scale water and wastewater system management. I currently serve as the Lead of the Water Resources Management Department at Gavilan College. My experience will be an invaluable asset to the City as we work to complete our local system, update it for current and future needs and build a process for stabilizing its future management.

Growth management, business development, infrastructure maintenance and code enforcement are critical to our future success. Perhaps more important is the fracturing of our community. Bringing people together to productively debate and collaborate solutions, as it was done in the past, will be a major focus for me if elected.
