STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF HOLLISTER, DISTRICT 2

ROLAN RESENDIZ
Occupation: Teacher / City of Hollister CouncilmemberAge: 42

Education & Qualifications:

I am a seventh-grade teacher here in Hollister and a Councilmember for the City of Hollister. I have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.

Far too much residential growth in the County has led to failing roads, more traffic and overcrowded schools. Special interests have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into getting candidates elected who will support their projects, which we must stop!

As a Hollister Councilmember, I’ve voted no on new residential developments and voted yes to fix our City streets. I’ve worked on implementing a new General Plan that benefits our residents, not developers. We’ve also successfully attracted new jobs to our community in my time on the Council

With your continued support, I will vote no on residential developments in the City, prioritize repairing our City roads, and focus on bringing more jobs and revenue to our City.

Together, we can protect our community from out-of-control growth and ensure that future generations will enjoy the beauty that Hollister has to offer for years to come!

I humbly ask for your vote.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF HOLLISTER, DISTRICT 2

CELESTE TOLEDO-BOCANEGRA
Occupation: Small Business Owner

Education & Qualifications:

If given the opportunity, as your City Council Representative, I will continue my advocacy for the People. Hollister residents deserve better from their public servants. Residents deserve to be heard, regardless of political affiliation. City Hall is the house of the People and constituents should not be silenced, asked to leave, or be arrested in any public taxpayer building.

My parents immigrated from Guanajuato and Mexicali, Mexico. I am a first generation born and raised in Hollister. My parents taught me the value of what it means to be born in the USA. My father, Nemecio Toledo, loved what the USA offered him; an opportunity to provide for himself and his future family. He was a self-taught reader and small business owner – Toledo Trucking. He helped me understand the value of hard work and is the reason why I love my country!

At age 13, I cut apricots at several local apricot orchards. I attended local schools and started volunteering at a young age. I am a wife, mother of two children and a small business owner.

I would be humbled to earn your vote and commit to be the example of leadership that our local government desperately needs.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF HOLLISTER, DISTRICT 2

HANI MAYZOUNI
Occupation: Director of Technology

Education & Qualifications:

Hello Hollister Families. Summer is almost over, and November elections are just around the corner.

I am a father of four children and have a wealth of experience in Management, Technology, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, and a great sense of business opportunities. I thrive to be successful in everything I do. I have worked for both the private and government sectors and ran multiple businesses. I am currently a Director of IT.

We all know that Hollister is growing fast. The question is are we growing in a healthy direction?

Many projects will be initiated in the next few years. Are these productive projects for Hollister? Are they going to bring more jobs for Hollister youth? At what cost to residents of Hollister? Also, what impact these projects will have on our infrastructure, commuting, conjunctions, water, and electricity?

We cannot escape the expansion of Hollister, but we can control the expansion in a healthy productive way to bring a positive impact on the city. Vote for me this coming November and I will make sure to utilize all my skills and experience to make Hollister a leading city. Thanks.

CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, CITY OF HOLLISTER, DISTRICT 2

SERGIO MONTANEZ
Occupation: Accountant

Education & Qualifications:

Hollister is the best place to live. I know my kids are safe when they play outside or when they go to the park. But lately the number of homeless people in the city has visibly increased. This is a growing problem and it will only get worse if not addressed properly. Hollister needs leaders that will make the difficult decision during hard times; and our kids deserve a safe community where they can play outside even after dark. That is why I am asking that you vote for me, Sergio Montanez, as your representative for Hollister City Council. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Accountancy; I currently work as an accountant and I am well qualified for this position. Thank you for your time and your vote.
