STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
SAN BENITO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, DISTRICT 3
MINDY SOTELO
Occupation: Executive Director / MotherAge: 44
Education & Qualifications:
My family has been in San Benito County for five generations. I love our county and want to honor our rich heritage and rural beauty. Now is a pivotal time for us to develop a collaborative strategy for the future. I am ready to make the tough decisions and will always put our community first.
For the past 15 years, I have been the Executive Director of the San Benito County Farm Bureau. Working closely and frequently with the Supervisors and County Staff on many issues. I take great pride in my ability to bring people of different views together, to work for a common goal.
Now is the time to develop plans to work with other local, regional, state, and federal agencies to maximize opportunities for our County.
As the parents of three children, my husband and I take great pride in giving back to the community. I have served on the following boards: Hollister Little League, Emmaus House, Baler Backers Athletic Organization, and I served as District 3 Parks and Rec Commissioner in 2018 and 2019.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
SAN BENITO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, DISTRICT 3
ROLAN RESENDIZ
Occupation: Teacher/City of Hollister CouncilmemberAge: 42
Education & Qualifications:
I am a seventh-grade teacher here in Hollister and a Councilmember for the City of Hollister. I have a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
Far too much residential growth in the County has led to failing roads, more traffic and overcrowded schools. Special interests have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into getting candidates elected who will support their projects, which we must stop!
As a Hollister Councilmember, I’ve voted no on new residential developments and voted yes to fix our City streets. I’ve worked on implementing a new General Plan that benefits our residents, not developers. We’ve also successfully attracted new jobs to our community in my time on the Council
As a County Supervisor, I will vote no on residential developments in the County, prioritize repairing our County roads, and focus on bringing more jobs and revenue to our County.
Together, we can protect our community from out-of-control growth and ensure that future generations will enjoy the beauty of San Benito County for years to come!
I humbly ask for your vote.

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
SAN BENITO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, DISTRICT 3
EDDIE ALFARO
Occupation: Juvenile Institution OfficerAge: 42
Education & Qualifications:
I am a lifelong resident of San Benito County, born and raised in Hollister. My family and I worked and lived at B&R farms for decades. Living and working on a farm taught me the value of hard work and a love for our agricultural heritage.
As an adult, I have had the honor to work in law enforcement for over 16 years, I started my career as a Park Ranger in San Benito County. Now, I commute every day to work and worry about the condition and safety of our roads. I am also very concerned with the condition of our infrastructure as our community continues to grow. The status quo is not acceptable; our roads need to be fixed now.
My top priority will be our youth by creating better recreational and educational opportunities for them as well as increasing business opportunities and attracting more jobs. We need a tangible commitment from County government, for our residents and our business community with post-pandemic recovery.
Public service is a lifetime commitment for me. I will be your strongest advocate and representative on the San Benito County Board of Supervisors. I humbly ask for your vote this June 7th.
