Campaign Disclosure

DocumentCampaign Disclosure Statements (FPPC)

Periodic statements disclosing contributions made to and expenditures made by the candidate or committee. Must be filed at least once and possibly several times during an election cycle if more than $2,000 is being raised or spent.

The Following forms are required: (Refer to the FPPC for full filing schedules at from the FPPC website):
  • All candidates must file a Form 501 at the time of Declaring Candidacy or earlier

  • if contributions received or monies spent are under $2,000 then the candidate must file a Form 470 - Filing Deadline is Sep 27, 2018, but may be filed while declaring candidacy

  • if contributions received or monies spent are over $2,000 the following are filed:
    • Form 410 filed with the Secretary of State and with the San Benito County Department of Elections within 10 days of receiving or spending $2,000

    • Form 460 filed on Sep 27, Oct 25, and Jan 31, 2018

  • Other forms may be required depending on your specific campaign

  • Government Code §84200, 84218

    Who FilesAll Candidates must file all forms as specified above, depending upon the money raised or spent.

    How to FileCampaign Disclosure forms may be filed by paper, but the San Benito County Department of Elections strongly encourages our candidates to use our online Campaign Finance filing system, eCampaign.

    Accounts for filing will be created at the time of filing the Declaration of Candidacy or may be created ahead of time if the candidate wishes to request one. e-Mail requests to: sbcvote@cosb.us
